Er zijn niet zo heel veel makers van naam die het aandurven om een remake te maken van een klassieker, maar Adrian Lyne (Fatal Attraction, Jacob’s Ladder) had de ballen. Dat hij Jeremy Irons had om Humbert Humbert te spelen zal vast wat vertrouwen hebben gegegeven.
