Een misdaadfilm die zich voornamelijk afspeelt op één plaats, namelijk het appartement van een getrouwd stel. Het koppel is echter niet meer zo verliefd op elkaar als in de begindagen van hun huwelijk. De vrouw (Grace Kelly) weet niet dat haar echtgenoot (Ray Milland) een man bij hen thuis heeft uitgenodigd waarmee hij zijn verhaal wil delen.
